WINNING INFORMATION
2016 It was a very challenging year when it comes to realizing what
it really took place in the vineyard. Realize how the plant reacted to the atypical year.
After a very rainy winter, we also had a rainy spring with low temperatures, which delayed the vegetative cycle.
The first treatment was indeed very important. First of many, as the pressure for downy mildew and powdery disease was very strong and it extended even during the months of June and July.
August was very hot, and the response of some grape varieties was simply to interrupt their ripening cycle. At the end of the month we had some rain, but the plant didn't even react! At the beginning of your cycle, you were used to a larger amount available!
It was very important for the cutting decision, to understand the location of the plants, and to interpret their reaction to the atypical climatic conditions.
We decided to collect on September 6, some parcels of Tinta Roriz. On September 11th we started harvesting white varieties and continued patiently until October 15th, as there was no threat of rain.
Even the one recorded in the middle of September was harmless, even for some potentially sensitive varieties at this stage.
We can therefore say that the challenge has been overcome! In a completely challenging year. Quality promises, and wines with great personality
see there!
WINEMAKER NOTES
Before we go to taste this fabulous white, let me share that this wine of minimal intervention, in addition to reduced use of sulfites, does not carry any stabilizing product. His contact with the fermentation sediments was essential, where the wine naturally finds everything he needs to endure years and years of bottle with a bright and attractive golden color. With notes of yellow pulp fruit, it also denotes some dehydrated fruit, always on a fresh background that shows its origin well. Beautiful in the mouth, with the same notes of the nose, reaching with some more tropical notes with the opening. Long finish letting you know
a mixture of sensations of freshness, minerality and honey tones.
