In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they started exporting Port Wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, Burmester and Gilbert stood out for their rigor and knowledge that they devoted to Port Wine, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. At the end of the millennium, Burmester is still owned by Amorim, until it is acquired by the Sogevinus group, the company's current owner. We can consider Burmester as a harvest specialist, with magnificent harvests that are at your disposal and that you are launching regularly. Still, its Vintage Port is of excellent quality, showing its splendor in great vintage years.
