Graham's L.B.V. 2013

Grahams Late Bottled Vintage Port (LBV) is an excellent wine, selected from the best production of a very good year. In contrast to a Declared Vintage Port (which is bottled in the second year after harvest), the LBV is aged between 4 and 7 years in experienced oak barrels and vats before bottling; hence the term "Late Bottled". This aging process encourages the development of wines; it becomes more complex and is ready to drink sooner than Vintage Port, while still having some of the characteristics of the characteristic smoothness and softened tannins. Grahams LBV Port is made exclusively with high quality grapes from the company has its own vineyards. Grahams LBV has attractive licorice and floral aromas and fresh blackberry flavors. In addition, like the Six Grapes, it has clues from the native Gum Cistus plant, which grows around the vineyards in the Douro, transmitting very subtle aromas of mint to the wine. Its high concentration of ripe fruits is balanced by the added complexity of spices, all kept together by excellent structure and balance.Grahams LBV is the leader in its category with 1 Trophy and 6 gold medals in the last two decades in the most prestigious competitions. It is very much appreciated by port enthusiasts in Great Britain, traditionally one of Port's most demanding and competitive markets. Grahams LBV receives a clear light before bottling and is ready to drink when bottled, it should be served a little cold, between 12 and 16º Celsius.
